BOARDSOX CANVAS AND ZIPPERLESS COVER SIZE GUIDE
How do I measure my surfboard for a cover?
Your board has three measurements: (L)length, (W) Width, and (T) thickness.
- Length: Nose to tail (e.g. 6’0”).
- Width: The widest point of the board (e.g. 21”).
- Thickness: The depth of the board (usually a fraction, like 3 4/6”).
These measurements are normally found on the underside your surfboard and may look like this below.
They are normally written in order of
L x W x T

When choosing a cover, you need to take into account not just the width but the thickness of the surfboard.
So to calculate this:
Width + (Tickness÷ 2)
Example:
A Fun surfboard
6'6ft ( L). x 20"(W) x 2" ( T)
Take the thickness (T) of your board and ÷ 2, then add that number to the (W) Width.
That gives you your board’s total width to fit in our covers
. i.e, Thickness (T)=2
Divide that by 2 = 1
Then add the 1 to 20 ( W) = 21-inch wide.
Then match your final equation with our guide below for each style of surfboard you have!
👉 A shortboard needs to have the final equation equal to less than 22inches wide
👉 A funboard needs to have the final equation equal to or less than 24 inches wide
👉 A Longboard needs to have the final equation equal to or less than 25 inches wide.
Why do we do this? Becuase surboards have thickness - If you just look at the width you may order a cover that simly wont slide over the surfboard.
