Wrap a tape measure around your head, starting at the back where it’s widest (just over the bump at the back of your skull).
Bring the tape around to the front, positioning it roughly 5mm above your ears. It should rest comfortably across your forehead or just above your eyebrows—wherever you’d prefer your hat to sit.
Make sure the tape feels just right—not too tight, not too loose. This is how your hat will sit once it’s on. Not sure which size? If you’re in between, it’s best to size up.

Terrific coverage of face ears and neck on all sides.
The front rim is Gr8 to turn up when surfing to get a clearer view when paddling for waves and the return to normal for full face protection..
I don’t mind wearing it out of the water also because of the protection from sun it provides and will probably take it fishing next time.

Love my new hat. Better than what I expected. Good quality. Hard rim at front keeps the sun out of my eyes. Love the neck protection. Worn it on a 20km walk and it rained most of the way. I was the only one in group that wasn’t looking at the ground as hat kept the rain off my face. Very happy. Planing on buying some for the kids and partner.

Totally does the job. After a bit of comparison and checking out the aspects of other similar hats I’m glad I have chosen this boardsox hat. Never thought I would be that old bugger in the hat in the lineup but here I am trying to combat skin cancers. Large brim without obscuring vision on take offs, fully adjustable and secure chin strap and ear coverings as well. Great job
